The club is Trafford MBC's appointed Community Club for the Urmston area. Its role is to promote recreational football for all, within the community. Amongst other tasks, one of the main aims of the Community Clubs is to forge links and partnerships with other local Clubs.
A number have already been set-up and are operating successfully. Community Clubs are also expected to develop relationships with local schools and the Club's Schools Liaison Officer has established several active connections where MEDS coaches are running weekly 'after school' football coaching sessions at the schools. In addition, Community Clubs have the use of the excellent facilities at Manchester United FC's Carrington Training Centre.
