There are over 550 players registered with the Club. It runs both mini-soccer (seven-a-side) and eleven-a-side football.

The Club is a FA Charter Standard Community Club and is affiliated to the Manchester Football Association. It is one of only a handful in the Greater Manchester area to have achieved this prestigious award.

The Club works very closely with Manchester FA and acts as an outlet for any new initiatives being launched by the FA into communities. Its junior teams are registered and play in the Timperley & District Junior Football League and South Manchester Girls League. The open age teams play in the Altrincham Sunday League and the Ladies North West Regional Premier League.

The Club is run by a Management Committee comprising a Management Executive (President, Vice President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Child Welfare Officer, Business Development Manager, Administration Manager, Schools Liaison Officer and Girls Development Manager) plus team managers/coaches and any other persons nominated by the Executive.

The Club has a constitution and operates codes of conduct outlining responsibilities in four areas for team managers/coaches, players, parents/guardians/spectators and the Club itself. It also fulfils the requirements in respect of child protection and has an appointed Child Welfare Officer

All the Clubs Managers and Coaches are qualified FA coaches and have a minimum of FA Level 1 certificates.

The fastest growing section of the club is the girls/ladies section which started during 2003.

The girls have teams in the South Manchester Girls League which also boasts teams associated with some of the local professional clubs such as Manchester City and Stockport County.

At present we run teams at U10, U11, U12 U13, and U14 and we are always looking to expand female football. The ladies team play in the Ladies North West Regional Premier League which also has teams from professional clubs including Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, Everton, Preston North End, Bury and Rochdale amongst others.

The other centre is at Flixton Coach House, Flixton Fields in the district of Flixton, Greater Manchester. It is situated on Flixton Road close to Flixton railway station.

All AFC Urmston Meadowside teams play in the official club colours of orange and black.. The team kits are managed and controlled by our own Kit Manager.

The club is Trafford MBC's appointed Community Club for the Urmston area. Its role is to promote recreational football for all, within the community. Amongst other tasks, one of the main aims of the Community Clubs is to forge links and partnerships with other local Clubs.

A number have already been set-up and are operating successfully. Community Clubs are also expected to develop relationships with local schools and the Club's Schools Liaison Officer has established several active connections where MEDS coaches are running weekly 'after school' football coaching sessions at the schools. In addition, Community Clubs have the use of the excellent facilities at Manchester United FC's Carrington Training Centre.
